Lunch & Language: The Philippines
The first Lunch & Language of the year featured The Philippines. It was held on January 24th at the Louis A. Simpson Building. The presenters were Ma. Florevel (Floe) Fusin-Wischusen with the Princeton Institute for Computational Science & Engineering and Marie Burke with the School for Public and International Affairs. Both were born and raised in the Philippines— Floe is from the Province of Iloilo and Marie is from the capital city of Manila. The presentation started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem titled “Lupang Hinirang” rendered by the presenters. Lunch and Language: Philippines
Please mark your calendars for our next event, Lunch and Language, with a focus on the Philippines. Our speakers will present in Filipino language with an opportunity at the end to ask questions (in English😊) and there will be wonderful food from a local Filipino restaurant. Bead and Bond Event
Crafting is the finest way to unwind during a lunch break at work. The Craft and Chat committee organized a Pandora-style bracelet event called “Bead and Bond.” The participants gathered around a table, grabbed their beads and bracelets, and got right to work. The event reminded us of all of our elementary school crafts days as we talked about color-coordinating beads and charms. Some participants crafted two or three bracelets to distribute to friends and loved ones. An hour of crafts was followed by tea, coffee, cookies, and a lovely cranberry cake. Bead&Bond – crafting event
Dear IEGAPers, We are happy to invite you to our first Craft and Chat Committee event in this academic year: Bead and Bond We will be making Pandora-like Bracelets using glass beads and metal bracelets. You may be able to make up to two bracelets. You can keep the bracelets for yourself or give them as a gift! Cookies and coffee from Olives will be served.

Fall Member Meeting
It was great to see so many members, both new and old, during our first in-person meeting of the fall. We hope that everyone had a great summer, was able to take some time off to refuel, and is excited about the new academic year. Here are the most important topics covered in our meeting. We discussed continuing the virtual International Film Club events. We are looking for members to join the Committee to help select the movie for the month through Kanopy, plan the group discussion date, set up and send out the Zoom meeting to the group, and moderate the discussion. Habitat for Humanity: UNITY BUILD (off-campus)
If you are looking for some volunteer opportunities outside work, please consider volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. Currently Habitat is looking for VOLUNTEERS for their Unity Build Event! IEGAP members can sign up individually here. A couple IEGAP members plan to join, but we’re hoping to see both new and familiar faces.
